Clean Sweep!

Hillary Clinton’s supporters flipped on their TVs on Saturday night, Sunday night, and Tuesday night hoping to watch “The Amazing Race” and ended up with “The Biggest Loser.”

- The Boston Globe

A pretty accurate portrayal of the events that have taken place over the past week, as Obama rides a surge of wins across eight states.

Hillary writes the wins off as unimportant, since many of the states Obama won are typically won by the Republicans. Why, then, is Obama winning in a 2-to-1 spread versus the Republican candidates in those states?

Will Hillary’s Guiliani-esque tactic of fleeing to a “more crucial” state pay off? It certainly didn’t work for him.

I guess only time will tell.

CES 2008

With Macworld just a week away, many people seem to forget about CES 2008. *cough*

Thoughts on the New Hampshire Debates

With the Iowa caucuses behind us and the primaries in New Hampshire just days away, it’s all eyes on the 2008 candidates. With the unprecedented turnouts on both sides in Iowa and campaigns seeing huge boosts (or setbacks), what seemed like a predictable preseason has evolved into something incredibly dynamic.

While Clinton and Romney appeared to be the nearly unopposed front-runners months ago, the victories in Iowa by Obama and Huckabee, on the Democratic and Republican sides respectively, and the subsequent losses by Clinton, Romney, and the other high-polling hopefuls have turned this contest on its head.

Especially with both Obama and Edwards (my personal pick) edging out Clinton, who placed a potentially campaign-stopping 3rd-place in Iowa, the nation, or at least Iowa caucus-goers, have stated quite clearly that they are looking for a candidate who can inspire change and a new direction for this country, regardless of past experience.

Similarly, Mike Huckabee, once considered an unimportant nobody in the months leading up to the caucuses, charged to the front of the pack in Iowa. Republicans clearly want a candidate who is pretty much more of the same — a man who lets his faith determine his leadership values, though there’s really no candidate, with perhaps the exception of Ron Paul, who leads otherwise. It’s Back!

And just in time for Macworld San Francisco 2008!

Yep, the blog is back (again) and ready to go for my trip to Macworld in just under two weeks from now.

I’ll be sharing my thoughts and experiences with you once again, and I hope you’ll stick around to read them.
